Radically Affordable
Seminary education should not leave graduates in crippling debt. Lower cost is the first of FBS's core values: minimize student debt so that graduates remain available for ministry.
For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it?Luke 14:28
Debt Narrows a Calling
Many seminary graduates carry student loan debt into ministry. That burden shapes — and limits — the decisions they can make for years after graduation.
Graduates who feel called to serve smaller congregations, pursue church planting, or go to the mission field often can't afford to follow that calling. Instead, they're forced to choose positions based on salary rather than conviction. This is the reality Faith Bible Seminary was founded to change.
What Seminary Debt Costs
- Years of loan repayment limiting ministry choices
- Financial stress on young families
- Graduates steered toward salary-driven decisions
- Fewer graduates free to serve smaller churches or the mission field
Graduate Debt-Free and Ready to Serve
FBS was established specifically to help students complete seminary without incurring significant debt. Here's how we make it possible.
Lower Cost Is a Core Value
FBS is a ministry of Faith Church, Lafayette. The seminary's first core value is lower cost: minimize student debt so that graduates remain available for ministry — wherever God calls them.
Tuition That Rewards Ministry
M.Div. students serving full-time in ministry or a church internship pay $2,000 per year. All other M.Div. students pay $250 per credit hour. MABC tuition is $310 per credit hour.
VA Benefits Accepted
As a VA-recognized institution, FBS accepts veterans benefits, providing even more financial support for those who have served our country.
MABC Scholarships
The Leadership in Counseling Matching Program pairs a $500 church gift with a $500 FBS match ($1,000/year). The Joyful Journey Podcast Scholarship covers 50% of class tuition for women. Both are due October 15.
See What You'll Pay
FBS does not offer direct financial aid. The lowest M.Div. rate comes through full-time ministry or internship involvement; outside employment prevents the lowest rate.
Learn about M.Div.Total tuition and fees for the 39-credit degree are approximately $12,935. Two scholarships are available; applications are due October 15.

Family Flourishes
The M.Div. is a demanding three years. A church internship in place of outside employment, low tuition, and faculty who make room for family life are how families make it work.
Learn morePractical from Day One
Students don't just study ministry — they do ministry. Every M.Div. student serves in a church internship three to four days a week; the internship is half of the education.
